Kuemper at 8.5 is a bold way to get to the floor but I respect it. Personally I think they'll trade for injured contracts to get there.

There is no reason to put that much into Kuemper when you have both Luukkonen and Levi in the system, as well as Anderson probably staying. No need to try and force your way out of the rebuold just yet.

I expect Anderson to retire. He will be 41 when next season begins, and I think he was only hang on to get to 300 wins which he now has. The only real changes I would make to this lineup would be flipping Apslund and Peterka’s spots, and sending Bjork back to Rochester if we can’t trade him because he just doesn’t fit on this team.

Yeah but it’s only a two year deal. It’s more of a demonstration that the Sabres can give out an absurd goalie deal and be above the floor

I’m fine with Bjork as a healthy scratch guy

And that’s what they probably will do. But I think Brett Murray has earned a spot on this roster and Bjork has played his way off of it.

Maybe change Laaksonen with Johnson. Minnesota has a few LHD Prospects. Still think adding Mitts is a overpay. But if Fiala signs a extension they are pieces we could afford.

Not the offer Wild are looking for in a Fiala trade.

This trade wouldn't get Fiala - his pace since Jan 6th is 1.3PPG. There are 7 players in the NHL this year with 1.3+ PPG, not saying hes a top 7 player - but a Late first a middle 6 C and a B prospect doesnt get a potential 105-10 pt player (who is already guaranteed over a PPG this year). I should qualify this to say out of the top 10 point getters in the league.

He's having a breakout year, he's a RFA with Arb rights. Maybe you get more, but that seems about right.

I agree, I would try to keep Fiala at all costs. What do you want for Dumba

Honestly - if a team shelled out like a second a 4th and a mid level prospect (whole package equivalent to a mid to late first), I would say they should do it in a heartbeat. At the deadline if they cannot work out an extension, he will have at least a first worth of value to a contender, especially if the team can retain 50%. So that being said I don't see it as much risk for a team to take him on this offseason if the asking price isn't over the moon. He is deadline trade bait for almost every team in the league (wild included potentially).

Sabres are playing way too good to say it's still rebuild. Team need solid goaltending.
Both Levi and Portillo are at least 2 years away from NHL roster.
UPL is going to be backup next year, if he plays better than Kuemper, no worries, it's just 2 year deal.
