I mean - I don't know that its really buying high - I just knew that they had a late first which was why I went with them. But there will be 3 non-ELC players making under $2M who are going to score 30 goals this year. Not to mention he has 2 years left on that deal.

I mean this sincerely, why are you trading 1mil cheap contract like Hartman? 33 goals and counting. Not even that much more than league min , and a C

I see no way Wild trade Hartzy. I haven't seen his analytics, but i think his play is sustainable, i don't see anything flukey about his scoring.

Yes but this year accounts for 33% of his career goals and its his 8th NHL season, 6th full season. And with Tuch Quinn Olofsson and Okposo on the Sabres wings, where would he go

philly doesn't make sense to me as a destination for dumba. they should be holding onto their firsts but even if they do move it it'll be for a forward imo

Well I mean he plays Center - so probably at Center. But Yeah - not sure if its him coming into his own or a anomaly

Thought process here is bang for your buck. Someone has to move out of the top 6 - you could get a lot more for Hartman at 33 and counting than you could Gaudreau and you give Gaudreau the opportunity to become the next Hartman. At the end of the day with the amount of people in the pipeline getting ready for real NHL minutes - in terms of asset management - Hartman is as high of a value guy right now as he will ever be with 2 years left at 1.7M

Makes sense, but since Hartman signed that team friendly to stay in MN it would really set a bad precedent when asking future free agents to sign a team friendly.

Yeah - I mean I think moving Gaudreau is probably smarter anyways and moving Hartman into that spot on L2. The interesting thing to me would be if they try 97 and 22 together ever again, they certainly are building chemistry on the ice and sounds like off the ice as well (given that means absolutely nothing to GMBG which is great, this is about winning, not peoples feelings). If they did and its lightning in a bottle I would see potentially moving Zuccarello, even with some retained if you can backfill him with someone like Beckman who is going to shoot every single puck that ever comes on his stick playing with Boldy and Hartman.

I just threw a number in there - either way I dont anticipate him being any lower than the 850 hes making now.

Theres some sort of lovechild relationship it has always seemed between GMCF and Yeo for Dumba - he played horribly for a long long time under the 2 of them and continued to be rolled out there as a top 4 D-man over players like Spurgeon and Brodin when they were all developing.

He’s a league minimum player right now. I like him, but if he won’t play for about $775k, addios…he’s very replaceable!

Yeah - thats true - just didn't really want to go through the process of finding someone tbh. At the end of the day its pennies compared to the $ being shelled out elsewhere here.

Wow, that's an insane amount of goals from someone who never came to my attention before and it's not like he's 23 and just matured he's 27 - that would be like Girgensons suddenly busting out 30+ goals, certainly an interesting story.

I guess with Kaprizov (45 goals, 58 assists) and Zuccarello (24 goals 55 assists) on your wings would certainly help.
It is interesting that he became a full time center last year, sounds familiar!
I wonder if he could produce as well with either Olofsson or Skinner on his wing.
I am not smart enough to determine that, but it is only a late first in a below average draft.
All the same I would pass and expect Cozens, Krebs or Mittelstadt to step into the #2 Center position.
Maybe @User123409871234 knows his emergence as a top 6 center was influenced by his line mates and selling what appears to be low.

Yes and No, I mean he played with Patrick Kane in Kane's golden years in Chicago - and was not as productive and I do not think that Kaprizov is the type of game breaker that Kane was at that time. I think that his game has matured and he is more comfortable in the player he is, however yes, I do not think he is a 30+ goal scorer on many lines in the league. However, that being said, there are a lot of teams that would pay up for a 1.7M Center that can tuck 30+. I think I noted somewhere in this thread that I just chose buffalo because I knew they had Florida's pick (late first) - really could be any team with a late first
