These signings make sense if we decide to push for the next 3 cups AND know Price will retire afterwards. Otherwise I don't think we do this.

Edit*** BUT damn this is a good team LOL

If that's the contract that Letang wanted then Pittsburgh would already have re-signed him by now.

As long as Yzerman is GM in Detroit Drouin won't be a Red Wing. It goes back to when they were in TB together. With Seider and Hronek Detroit doesn't need or want Petry.

    Question what roumors?

A bunch of Hab writers trying to dump cap, due to Bergy handling the cap. There is NO rumors in Detrout about Wings wanting Petry, either it is bull crpa from Hab writers or just your imagination

Forgot to say there is better chance of Matthews, McDavid and McKinnon being Wings top line next year than Drouin being a Wing while Yzerman is GM.

Zero chance of either Drouin or Petry playing in Detroit, Patrice Bergeron either resigns in Boston or retires he's not signing with Montreal and Letang isn't signing for no 3 year deal either when he wants term.

When is Montreal going to start paying teams for dumping players elsewhere? Hoffman won’t be drawing a 2nd from anywhere, let alone Edmonton. Detroit will never consider that. Drouin is a waste of a roster spot, and there is no room for Petry on the right side of the blue line with the better options that are available on their roster already. A team might be dumb enough to pay for Byron, but I doubt that happens. And with Anderson having that terrible contract, nobody will take that without retention, let alone without being paid to do so.

I also highly doubt that 5 of the biggest UFA players will all head to Montreal, especially with how far out of any kind of contention status they are. The only reason they even made the playoffs last year was because the North was the weakest division. Players know that Montreal isn’t a team in a contending spot, and likely won’t be for quite a few years. Plus these players are all trying to go for a cup, so they likely wouldn’t go to a Canadien team anyway.

No chance on Drouin but I could see Wings taking Petry if it's cheap, like a 3rd at most
