Did JBD fall off? Last I heard he was the Sens' top RHD prospect, even above Thomson. Now I see him in trade proposals regularly.

It’s because we really need a top 6 forward and we have to give to get. He’s still projected as a top 4 guy. Him and Thomson are about the same, JBD better defensively , Thomson more of a 2 way. I don’t think we have room for both

He hasn't fallen off at all. He looked good in his NHL stint this year, and has become an important part of a Belleville team on the verge of making their 1st ever playoffs. If anything, he's committed himself even further to becoming a great defensive specialist, Becoming a shot blocking monster.

The reason he's in so many Sens posts is Lassi Thomson. Lassi has taken massive strides this season. His skating and defensive positioning looked excellent in the NHL this year, and he's really refound his offensive touch from his Junior days. It's no fault of Bernard-Docker, but Lassi has really been that much better this season.

There's really only room for one or the other on the roster next year. While there's still definitely a role for him on the team beyond that, Lassi's emergence paired with the obvious need for top 6 winger support has made him seem expendable. They need to add that piece up front, and you don't get an impactful forward if you aren't willing to move anyone of substance you just can't get it done. The way I see it, Sanderson, Thomson and Greig are off the table, and I don't think there's a player on the market that would warrant moving this year's 1st. If those are your top 4 future pieces, Bernard-Docker is 5, and you're not taking you're 5th most Important piece off the table too.

He was playing 3rd pair on Belleville and put up 9pts in 52 games been pretty disappointing but he’s still young

A leafs fan who probably didn't even watch him play calling him disappointing when he's been one of the steadiest dmen we've got in Belleville and didn't look out of place in the NHL. Great penalty killer and able to transition the puck very well, esp for a rookie. Points will come

Not enough for Garland. JBD is definitely a guy we’d target but Garland is a proven quantity, JBD is not. We’d probably want like a protected 2023 first or something along with JBD because there isn’t really an incentive to trade Garland
