Hard pass from Detroit. Zero interest in Poolman.

Rangers are more likely to resign Copp than make that trade. Not that the value is off, but the rangers are going to need more cap friendly players the next few years. JT's extension just doesn't fit with extensions needed for Laffy, Kakko, Miller & Schneider the next 2-3 years.

Pass on the Rangers trade. Also don’t think Detroit would take on Poolman, but another team might

Don’t know how to add the notes to say Poolman to any team

Fair enough, Copp’s emergence could make it difficult. Any guess on his next contract?

My Hope = 5m*5yrs = 25m
My Expectation = 6m*5-6yrs = 30-36m
Ideal = 4.5-5m*8yrs = 36-40m

It is definitely going to come down to how he performs in the playoffs.

Either way, if I'm the Drury:
1) I offer the max term to bring down the AAV, even if he wouldn't be worth it come the final 3 years of the contract. Rangers have cap issues the next 2-3 years so this is really important.
2) I keep Copp over Strome. Small sample size but Copp has been over a point per game with Panarin (Strome hasn't), he shoots more, is better on faceoffs & will likely cost less than Strome.
