Knowing how bad the NYR development system is this all would've been for naught.

None of the players acquired would've ever reached the level they're in now in Rangers.

Zero chance that Jeff Gorton was ever going to take Seider over Kakko. And same with Lundkvist and Veleno.

I don’t really think that’s true. Rangers over drafted Kravstov, got unlucky with Kakko every team drafts him 2nd overall, he’s just not good.

Honestly don't think any of the picks were bad. Lias was a bit of a reach, but his SHL production was awesome.

If you want to make an actual difference it's on the development side where the team is terrible. And that's mostly because there's no real skills coach in the organization just a bunch of grinders like Tanner Glass and Jed Ortmeyer.

You can basically keep the picks and just hire like Nate Leaman instead of Quinn. Or fire Quinn after year 1 and go with Quenneville or McLellan. Heck or hire Marty St. Louis to run Hartford or development in like 2018.

Plenty of revisionist history, But I can almost guarantee you that if all you do is swap out the players picked, the result is exactly the same. Chytil is probably Robert Thomas production wise in another organization. Kakko is probably a point / game player elsewhere. It's really just the Rangers ****ty development which goes back all the way to Kovalev.

It’s not the players, it’s their lack of development.

They haven’t developed a top 6 forward in their development system in over a decade.
