What are you offering Buffalo to eat that ridiculous contract? I’m not sure he really even fits our young defense core.

rnh has been doing great as 3c.

Ryan is really not that great at center anymore.

mcleod factors into things moving forward.

Stuart skinner is up next year before smith is.

broberg is playing next year they need him to fill keith's spot when his contract is up

Barrie doesnt have a bad contract he is just redundant now that bouchard is playing. Seattle or dallas will take him.

"MCD AND DRAI NEED A CUP". Gee, I thought you were making a trade to true contender for those two players.

Just doing the math....If a player has 16 year NHL career, his chances of being in a Cup Final....is just once. To win a Cup just once in his career just 50% chance.

Sorry, no player is entitled to a Cup.

Then why are you trading away their best winger?

why would u trade a fantastic 2 way winger with an established track record of success for a guy who has done literally nothing in this league.

If you're bringing in Dylan Strome you've got put him with McDavid. Put the guy on his wing and watch him fly.

32 teams in the league. If a player has a 16 year career, 16 teams X 2 make the Cup finals in his career....32 teams make the NHL Cup final. So a player odds of being in a Cup final in this career is just ONCE.
Odds of winning the Cup.....50% of his one time appearance.

Well at least we see more player movement than ever before, so I a player can land on good team late in his career. Look at the 1950s and pre expansion 60s....Wings, Habs, Leafs won all the Cup except for the 1961 Hawk win. Then Montreal, and Isles dominated the 70 and to the mid 80s. Lots of players never had a sniff at the Cup, but the chances were a lot better with six or even sixteen team league than now with 32 team late.
The "odds". Kinda reminds of the line in "Fields of Dreams". (I'm paraphrasing). "Little did I know my first chance was my only chance."

im going to have to check your math on that.. 1/2.. yup.. 50 %

In the most simple terms sure half the league, 1/16 makes the playoffs, but the "odds" of making the playoffs have infinite variables.

It is not that simple, but again i am being particular and this is not the reason for the post.
