Holy smokes, Jonathan Lekkerimaki is a good hockey player]

I would kill to have either Havelid or Odelius as well, both very good puck movers and quarterbacks

Ostlund and Ohgren really are the dynamic duo aren't they, some team with multiple 1sts should grab em both

Sweden is almost as fun to watch as the Americans

Yup I can see Lekkerimaki go as high as 6 now, he’s really good. Ostlund is in the 11-15 range for me and ohgren probably a late 1st

Defense managed to get worse LOL

Literally how. Does this mean he is one of the worst defensive players in the league? Yikers definitely concerning

Man when was the last time we have seen a team where each member of their top 9 scored 20+ goals

Well Blues officially have done it after tonight

As rn they got

Buchnevich (34 goals) - Thomas (20 goals) - Tarasenko (34 goals)
Saad (24 goals) - O' Rielly (21 goals) - Perron (27 goals)
Barbashev (26 goals) - Schenn (24 goals) - Kyrou (27 goals)

To bad for the 4th line

Brown (4 goals) - Bozak (3 goals) - Walker (8 goals)

Lmao Preds losing a 4-0 lead against ARI.

Even we didn't manage that.

Must be a pain without Saros.

To bad it leads to 3 to 4 years of embarrassment in their new home or a relocation within 1 year to Houston

Take your pick which happens first

I'm going relocation as there they got maybe a 1/5 chance of getting that Tempe Arena approved with their spotty financing

Anyone notice how this year almost every player who requested a trade popped off

To name some guys

Mikheyev

53gp 21 goals 11 assists 32 points

Debrusk

77gp 25 goals 17 assists 42 points

Tarasenko

75gp 34 goals 48 assists 82 points

Guess requesting a trade but not getting traded is a good omen for the team lul

McDavid and Draisaitl sitting out for the final game. I guess they are preparing what they are gonna do in the playoffs.

Not show up…

I'm so disappointed, man. I really hope I'm proven wrong, but I just don't see the Leafs beating the Lightning. Be cheering for them all the way obviously, but I'm doubtful.

Also, fix this stupid f*cking playoff format for the love of God. As much as I'm upset with the Leafs draw in the mess that is the East, the Wild (and Blues, for that matter) should be absolutely pissed. Seed 3 playing seed 4 in the conference is an absolute non-sense. This format is ridiculous and, tbh, it f*cks with the integrity of the playoffs.

You’re not alone. As much as it pains me to say this. I predict Tampa will win in 7. I would be overjoyed to be proven wrong though.

And yes please fix the playoff format. Back to 1-8 seeding.

And when it does we will know who the true fans were and who the bandwagoners were

What’s wrong with being doubtful about beating the back to back champs lol?

When you got doubts you ain't going no where or that doubt will come back to bite

You want Toronto to go on a run throw that doubt away. As hope will keep them going

Remember last year Button doubted Mtl would not win a game vs. Toronto look what happened

I know Tampa won back to back but so did Pittsburgh and they lost to Washington after the second cup.

Its the playoffs and when you got 2 strong teams going at it, it's anyone's game. If we doubt then we're playing right into Tampa's hands

The professional hockey players do not give a single **** about whether you doubt they can win/think they will win lmao, it doesn’t play into anybody’s anything. It’s just being realistic with your predictions. Your hope is not going to fuel anything, and it’s not going to change the fact that you’re cheering for them to win still. If anything predicting them to lose helps, because players seem to get most motivated by being the underdog and the “us against the world” mentality lol. I also don’t think you can blame Leafs fans in particular, because every time they get their hopes up, they famously get crushed, usually in the most soul-crushing way imaginable… for the last 54 years, and especially the last like 17. So not wanting to set yourself up for major disappointment is justifiable, because then you’re pleasantly surprised if the team you’re cheering for wins, and it feels extra good, much more than if you go in with the mindset that you should just easily win, which leads to either a shrug because it was expected, or extreme disappointment (see: the last two years lol)

Last year Muzzin was a big part of the teams defensive identity but now we don’t need him to win games so our defensive depth improved. Brayden Point has had injury problems this year so Iunno if he’s going to go god mode like the last 2 runs and if Tampa keeps their first line the same, Points going to be on a newly crafted 2nd line with Point and I think Paul and Colton? Or Stamkos goes back down but Iunno if they want to with how well he’s playing (20 something points in 9 games). The Matthews line can defend too so that’s two lines we can match with their top two lines. They’ve replaced the Gourde line with the Cirelli line so they’d probably try to line match with the Matthews line. It all depends on the Matthews/Marner line if they show up/get open. It also depends on Jack Campbell, this isn’t the MTL offense. It depends on our defenders pushing guys out of the crease cause that’s where Point, Perry, Killorn, Cirelli set up their offices. There’s a 0% chance Toronto is underestimating Tampa where you could argue they could’ve with MTL and CBJ. Imo this is like the last chance for Dubas and company cause the owners shelled out front loaded contracts worth 80+ and it ain’t for first round exits.

Only 5 players have scored more goals than Caufield since St-Louis was named head coach: Matthews, Kaprizov, Lindholm, Thompson, MacKinnon, and he has 35 points in 37 games in that span. If the Calder was voted for the most valuable rookie to his own team, Caufield would be in my top 3 with Seider & Zegras.
