This is a good move for Buffalo, I was very excited when Buffalo signed Ruotsalainen but he appears to be a 15th forward at this time.
Semyon would give Buffalo another year to let Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen to develop.
If Buffalo had Varlamov this year, they would have added about 15 pts to their season (73 now to 87).
Not a play off team but significantly closer.
But with a better GK, better defense and more scoring, who knows.
