Robin Lehner isn't waiving for no cellar dweller, And if Martinez waives it will be home to Detroit not the likes of Ottawa.

He might, if he truly wants out of Vegas. Which it sounds like he does.

Caps decline, especially if Dadanov's salary is not retained. Washington has enough forwards as it is, and they need to drop Eller in order to get a full time spot for McMichael. Eller likely gets some sort of pick, Dadanov in a cap dump.

Dandanov has 20 g 40 pts. I understand Caps may be trying to add cap space, but hes not a trash overpaid player. He'd be an upgrade over Sheary. i think the Caps do it, find a way to dump sheary and replace him with the ELC

If the caps wanted an upgrade over sheary, why give that money to dadanov rather than nichuskin on FA. Also sheary has 19g 23a this year ...

Why not do both, eller and sheary = Dadanovs contract so either way they have the same cap hit

Did you see the second part of that? Sheary gives you exactly what Dadanov does for a quarter of the price

Dadanov may have more goals, but Sheary has been better defensively and drives most of the offense on the third line. He has slightly worse stats in goals, but he is just as good as Dadanov at 4 million a year less and has more assists than Dadanov. In a year in which Washington has little cap to work with, Dadanov is replaceable with cheaper options Washington already owns, or by prospects ready to take the next step. When Washington could use that space on a different player with similar impact, and can also keep Sheary, I think they will do that 100% of the time.
