      The only way vegas gets that pick back from buffalo is if they win the lottery and we have to. I can't imagine anybody assuming that next years first will be better than 16oa

      Detroit gladly accepts, but I don't think you have to consider Martinez a cap dump. Detroit probably sends a 4th for Martinez straight up.

      edmonton had broissoit as their goalie he wasn't good enough or consistent. Koskinen is a better goalie and they could have him for free.

      Yeah, I think Detroit sends a mid-rounder back and is happy with it. In a vacuum I'd think that Martinez has some good positive value (probably worth a 2nd) but knowing that VGK needs space, you can squeeze a little more juice out of that.

      There is no chance that Vegas wins lottery under new rules. A team can only move up 10 spots, per the updated rules, so if Vegas has the 16th pick they could only move up to the 7th spot, so no chance.

      You can win the lottery, you just get 7th overall or 8th if they win the 2nd place lottery. If they win 7th, no one gets to jump up to first because Vegas won that lottery. Giving mtl 1st overall
