While these are all just my opinion, I'd be happy to go back and forth with reasonable Devils fans. Hoping this can just help those that are trying to make trades with the Devils on here.

-Players the Devils would certainly move: Zacha, Johnsson, Tatar.
I can see interest in Zacha being young and looking for depth. Johnsson could work for teams desperate for depth scoring, maybe even Tatar if they have tons of cap room.

Keep in mind, the Devils have tons of cap room, so the Devils should not be spending to dump any players. They can easily eat contracts.

Devils need a shutdown RHD that can play on the PK, a 1A/B goalie, and could use more pop that might be expensive but without mortgaging the future too badly.

Untouchables are both Hughes boys, Hischier, Bratt, and to me Siegenthaler. Mercer is very close to being untouchable along with Holtz.

Devils could take on expiring (as of 2023) veterans that are pricing.

I would only trade the 1st from this year if they drop to 7th and both RHD are out, but it would still need to be for a big player now with term or ability to get term.

All makes sense to me.

The Devils needs, to me, are:

1. Goaltending (Internal options: Blackwood, Daws, Schmid)

2. A better net-front presence, especially on PP. (Internal option: Bastian? Foote?)

3. A defensive system/coach that utilizes wingers a bit more in d-zone

4. More shot-blocking (especially from forwards)

5. More shots on net (especially from blue-line)

Other than that, extend Bratt and Severson, do well in draft, and maybe add a few pieces to plug holes.

If we fall to 7th pick, should try and package it for Chychrun. Maybe they want too much though

Maybe we can get Philly to pay us to take JVR for a year. He might have a few miles left in him.

Ty Smith + a top-10 puck ought to be enough as a base.

Bastian was good on the PP when we got shots on net.....but the breakout (including the slingshot) were a disaster if Hughes was not the one breaking it into the zone.

The key thing is that guys need to have more utility. I don't trust Miles Wood on the PP to not get goalie interference nor on the PK. If we try him on the PP again and he's learned, fine, but I'd rather go in another direction after Bastian.

Subban didn't work on the PP and was scary on the PK. Just give me a shutdown RHD that can babysit Ty Smith if he is ever to be brought back from the depths.

It would be nice to see if Sharangovich and Mercer could perform together without Hughes and give scoring depth, but I wouldn't want to give Hughes nothing to work with.
