Description
It's the end of the core and I believe it's Letang over Malkin that will get the boot. He's worth more for in trade value and the Pens can probably replace him easier. If the is no deal for either Malkin or Letang by the draft I would look into moving both. It's a good free agent market this year and the Pens could replace both players with less expensive, hopefully younger, options. Unfortunately, after another 1st round disappointment that is most likely coming, the Pens need to make BIG changes.

free agents are worth around a 6th round pick, not a first

Why would the Habs trade premium assets for letang when they could just wait a week and sign him for free???? Also zucker’s been terrible with the pens I don’t see any team - let alone a rebuilder like Arizona, paying you a second round pick for him.

I can promise you Arizona isn’t trading 34th overall for one year of a .5 PPG winger who’s always injured

Kris Letang is a pending UFA, He's not getting that kind of return. When Montreal can sign him for free. And Pen fans were saying that Rust wants 6x6 mil and Klingberg gets about 7x7.5 mil

Even by the usual standards, this Armchair-GM is pretty bad. Montreal's not going to pay Letang and no UFA is worth even a 3rd in a trade. Arizona isn't going to give Pittsburgh a 2nd for Zucker, they'd ask for a 2nd.

And most of those UFA/RFA contracts are ridiculous.

Zucker would have to be traded for nothing and maybe a late pick would have to go with him or a prospect
