part of me thinks you might be missing the point they're trying to make...

i assume this is supposed to be a comparison, so lets see
Dvorak = Lowry
Brook <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Heinola
CGY 1st > NYR 1st
EDM 2nd > NYR 2nd

so i think that these packages are about equal in terms of overall value (the difference between heinola and brook makes up for the difference between the picks imo)

i think that MTL shouldn't take that suzuki trade because of the fact that they have romanov, guhle, norlinder, fairbrother, xhekaj all on the left side, and as much as heinola would be great to bolster the left side, unless he can play right side, it wouldn't work
on the other hand, WPG shouldn't touch that dubois trade. that's not close to fair value, period. Dvorak is a 2C, brook isn't looking like he's gonna become anything anymore unfortunately, and i expect it to be a late first and a mid second.

and younger lol. neither trade is going to work for either side. I don't see PLD being available any more than I see Zuke being available. IF by some chance he did become available it would start with 2023 1st (top 5 protected) + for it to begin talks. Basically it is going to cost more than we should be willing to give up.

The major difference in the two players that not laid out, Suzuki just signed a 8 year deal to stay and PLD once again had rumours of him being on the move.
Montreal has the intent of building around Suzuki so it would cost more for them to want to move him. As Winnipeg doesn’t should like it has the same intent with pld. In under different conditions I think they should get equal or close to equal packages. But situations are situational, and at that point it’s not equal.

What rumors are there out there of PLD being on the move? The only things I've found have been an NHL.com article saying that PLD and Winnipeg will discuss an extension in the offseason, and then a handful of Habs writers saying "hey wouldn't it be fun to get PLD if they can't get an extension agreed on?" Nothing concrete showing anything other than both current sides are open to working on an extension and Winnipeg would rather keep the AAV low (shocking, I know!) I think he's a big part of the Jets' future as well and should be treated as being worth the same level of return as Suzuki would.

Okay, I just a a bunch here of things on here, saw few post on other siteS. I went with where smoke there’s fire. Which is why I said they’d get equal packages under equal conditions. So if there is concrete truth to rumour of pld on the move, which is fine he’s a good young player I’d think they’d keep him, I don’t think either package is good enough for the two players here.

Lets move Scheif and bring Suzuki in, his defensive analytics are stunning. And I'll keep dreaming

That Dubos trade is blown away by half of the lead.
