Olausson and Bourgault are nice, but neither of them are standouts. The first round pick is nice, but as long as Edmonton has McDavid, its not gonna be high enough. We need a true top prospect or a high pick coming back our way to make it worthwhile for Debrincat.

What piece would you be interested in from either side?

I would have sworn you were an Avs fan, since they're winning this trade.

Lmao fair I just think I value girard more than most people do. Due to his contract and play style (and the fact that debrincat is gonna get a ton) I honestly think they are around the same value due to to that

smh, this isn't close for Debrincat for a 24 year old elite NHL goal scorer on a bad team, on a sweetheart cap hit for another year, an RFA after that and no injury history. It's going to take a big haul to get Cat; at a minimum as much as Eichel and probably more. A bunch of late round draftees and a late pick just doesn't move the needle...way too risky for the Hawks. They are going to need at least a elite level prospect and a 1st to get the conversation going.

Deal would happen after his rfa runs up if that changes the deal at all

Not much. A bunch of gambles on late first round draftees and a late 1st rounder is just way too much gambling. It's going to take a elite level prospect and 1st to get the conversation going.

Edmonton declines. That's WAY too rich for a defenseman they don't need.

I don’t exactly know but it would have to be a top tier prospect

Yamamoto, Bourgault, their 2023 1st, and Samorukov for Girard? Even if I thought Girard was exactly what EDM needed (I don't), that's notably too rich for my tastes.
