Kane is one of the few veterans FA I'd be open to sign - doesn't have the leverage to ask for a long-term deal, and he could be what we hoped Anderson could be on that line.

Its not that Kane is bad, or 6 mill is too much, its just that he has very bad behavior patterns so we have the potential to be stuck with him for 3 years if it happens. Plus who doesn't want a shot at Connor Bedard

Down to keep Petry IF his family agrees to move back and he decides MTL is where he wants to be. Kane on the other hand has been a cancer everywhere’s he has gone, last kind of guy you need on a young retooling/rebuilding team.

If all those bad behaviors are gone, which they seem to be since arriving in Edmonton, I'd be very pleased with Kane. Probably too early to tell if he's really changed, though.

The way I’ve seen kanes career is that if he’s on a winning team he doesn’t really let his bad behavior show. As soon as the sharks started going downhill, so did he

He was first with the Jets, got traded due to his attitude, but was still young and talented so Buffalo took a chance. His attitude was still an issue there and although he was improving on the ice he wasn’t blowing up the scoreboard so they traded him to the Sharks. He gets there becomes a top producer seems to have turned over a new leaf. Then all the bs started and his TEAMMATES voted not to take him back after his suspension this season. Goes to the Oilers plays with McDavid starts producing and stays out of the limelight and signs a contract in the off season and then the expected happens…

Im all for giving second chances but this guy is way past that.
