I don't really like any of these.
Guess I'm too risk-averse for these sort of trades.
If there's one I'm less excited about than the others it would have to be the Gibson acquisition, he looks more or less finished to me.
Very much not a fan of grabbing Meier either
The one I have the least reservations against would probably the Helly acquisition.

True. Don't see any reason for Canucks to move him though.
Wouldn't want to part with the assets required to make that happen either.

They'd never go for that, I think.
Probably would have to add Mercer or smthn on top of that.

You’re talking about a team extremely desperate for RD

A franchise goalie is much harder to come across than a Nemec/Jiricek

Not true. A Josi or Seider type RD is the hardest to find

Because it’s the 23 first I don’t know what else would be needed past the first and the devils 2nd best forward prospect. Smith, Zacha, Blackwood, or other prospects are what come to mind. McLeod, Bastian, Boqvist, etc. /maybe/ sharangovich?

Meier is our only PPG player and true superstar right now. What the Sharks would want in a trade for him isn’t really appealing for the Devils. 1st + Holtz is the ask to start (Djurgardens connections to Eklund). So ultimately they’re be a crossroads. 🤷🏼‍♂️

True but we’d have to somehow replace our goalie and I don’t see why we should empty a hole just to fill another

If it’s post July 1 with an extension and there’s stronger protection on the pick, I’d be fine with it.

Assuming the pick would be the 2023 one, I would think top 3 protection would be enough, so you don’t basically give up Berdard or Michkov and in the case they somehow fall.

I mean, Eichel got top 10 protection in a weaker draft, so I would imagine it’s probably on-par with that. But! I’m not the Devils GM so

Given what Chipman wrote in his letter to Jets fans earlier this year and his interview with TSN on Friday, I doubt the Jets make any drastic changes. I think a new head coach and a couple of assistant coaches will be the biggest move.

Edit: except for Scheifele given his postgame comments.

We have Quinn Hughes. We don’t desperately need another franchise d man. A serviceable top 4 will do. Canucks will never part way with Demko unless he gets old and declines. He is a franchise goalie. Nemec/Jiricek would not come remotely close to Demko’s value. Would Tampa trade Vasilivesky for Nemec? I doubt it. I think the Canucks can get top 4RHD through the draft or trading other guys like Miller. Out of everybody on our team, Demko is probably the last guy who would get traded

It's gonna be like Bratt and a pick for Meier lol... no way Sharks take another developmental boom or bust guy when they already have Merkley, Dahlen, Gregor, Reedy, Eklund, Knyshov, Kniazev etc. And no way they trade for another young goaltender when they already have Kakkonen as well as Hill/Reimer.

Where's the Devils 1st expected to be?

Chevy would have to give that a lot of consideration you'd think.
