Bertuzzi would get a younger similar attribute to himself, Bertuzzi+B Prospect and a 1st round pick with retention Bert gets another 1st or similar prospect plus extension would be even more. Sergachev alone doesn't get Bertuzzi @ 50% off plus extension Tampa still needs to add.

You're delusional if you Think TB adds
JBB stays with the best left side hockey
So why the f***committing to Bertuzzi to Age 36 @ that cap hit

You’re severely overestimating Bertuzzi imo and underrating Sergachev’s value. Like it’s not even funny. This should not be a trade to be made. If anything find someone younger than Bertuzzi instead of having him in the back half of his career.

That is a trade that makes no sense att all for Detroit.

Detroit has the strongest prospect pool on LD in the entire league, why on earth would we trade away our highest scoring winger for a defender we don't need?

Detroit have eight (8!) LD that are 23 years of age or younger in their system (Juolevi, Edvinsson, Johansson, Wallinder, Viro, McIsaac, Sebrango, Buium) that are all good to excellent prospects and three of them projects to be top-4.

Detroit is looking for cheap, short term, veteran help on LD until the prospects are ready in 1-2 years time.

The last year of Shattenkirk as we transition through our rebuild when we're already thin on defense in return for a LTIR contract and an over-the-horizon second? What a horrible, terrible, horrible, no-good idea.
