Jarmo would never offer that for Cernak. Peeke will be way better than Cernak. Texier requires a 1st+ this doesn’t come close.

Ottawa is not in the market for a middle 6 rental. Seeing as they wouldn't be looking to extend Nyquist they'd be forced to move him at the trade deadline, when they are hoping to still be playing meaningful games. It just makes no sense.

No way to Kadri. Jackets have the centers they want, they just need to develop. That cap hit will be a huge problem when they need to resign guys in the next couple years.

I doubt Columbus does this trade either, however this is a starting point for Cernak.

Honestly, not bad all around, imo.

- I think CBJ can get a 1st for Gus with retention, but a high 2nd would be good. Don't see OTT making this trade, though.
- I would love to get Cernak, but don't feel this trade would happen.
- I'd be fine moving Bems for some RD depth.

I actually think the signings are all pretty good. Except Kadri. I want nothing to do with whatever free agency bonanza is going to happen for a guy who took advantage of a high role on one of the best teams in the NHL during a contract year.
