The Devils won cups in 1995, 2000, 2003. But their best team may have been in 2000-01.
They were know as a defensive team. This team had: The winningest goalie of all time, two hall-of-fame dmen, a 3rd that would end up in top-10 of Norris voting that year, and a 4th that has his number hanging in rafters today. They also had six forwards received votes for Selke trophy that year. But they also lead the league in scoring ...and had scored the most goals in a season since the 1996 Penguins.
Using comps from today's players, I have built a roster similar to the 2000-01 New Jersey Devils.
