Everyone is going to come in here and reject all the trades but the LA, Carolina and Philadelphia ones are the most realistic.

As good as Scheif is trading McTavish for him doesnt make much sense as he doesnt really fit the compete window in ANA

The only one of these trades that has even a remote chance is Philly. Everyone else laughs themselves right out of their chairs.

All teams not named Winnipeg, 100% pass LA is definitely not giving up Byfield for Scheifele and can't see the Ducks giving up McTavish either

NYR decline, just not worth it. Schneider is a future top pair D-Man, and Lafreniere has shown this year what skill he has and that his limit is the sky.

Several of these teams have just completed or nearly finished with rebuilds, not sure why they would lose one of their top-tier prospects on ELC contracts for 2 years of Scheifele.

Zero chance the Canes trade Jarvis.

Maybe Necas without much attached to him, but I’d be skeptical even then.

Asking for both of them is ridiculous.

I can assure you LA does not find this realistic. Byfield's contract is structured to end his ELC right as Kopitar's contract ends, it will take a lot to move away from the cornerstone of their rebuild trimming their compete window to just 2 years.

Trading Ehlers would be a huge mistake.

That PHI trade sucks for WPG…
    First)- Ehlers is going nowhere
Second… Jets are getting pooched. Ehlers is better than Konecny and Couturier hasn’t come close to Scheifele’s production in years

Oh no. Now we are going to get all kinds of Jets posts, trading their big cap players for picks and top prospects.
The only trade that favours. the "other" team is the Flyers one. I'm guessing Coutieriere's new eight year contract doesn't age well at all, but Couts doesn't waive his NTC for the Jets anyway.

Canes reject that immediately. They aren’t trading Necas, and they sure as hell won’t be trading Jarvis. And they won’t trade them for a player that would fail on Rod’s system.

I think Eichel trade sets the blueprint for a Scheifele trade. Player (Tuch) Prospect (Krebs) and 2 picks. Carolina i could see Scheifele go for Jarvis, KK and a 1st rd pick. I think the Carolina trade has the most legs regardless. Dont see a Byfield or MacTavish moving IMO

    Why would CAR do that?

They could simply re-sign Trocheck, who’s a good fit as a 2C and wants to stay, instead of giving up that crazy amount. They’d end keeping their 2C, their eventual Staal replacement in Kotkaniemi and their 2023 1st. Not to mention there’s no chance they’re trading Jarvis.

Every team says no except Philly, where the Jets should say no. I think that scheifeles landing spot will be determined once the playoffs are over. There’s going to be a really good team that loses early and might want to shake things up. My guess is that team will be CAR. But even then I’m not sure it makes sense. I’d be looking at PIT and BOS as trade options

Sorry, there ain't nothing realistic about LA moving Byfield. This is the same reasoning that LA didn't trade for Eichel, except for a worse, older player. The last thing the Kings need is another center. And they aren't gonna give up their prized prospect for anything.

Rangers would not even consider that trade. They could have pursued it at TDL but went after Copp instead. Guess they don't want to give up two 20 year old studs for a locker room cancer.
