That's a very interesting deal for the Canucks. Pionk may be a great fit with OEL.

Maybe the Canucks trade happens but since the Islanders and Canes decline the Jets shouldn't trade Pionk.

I’m done with theorizing on scheifele trades. Every single fanbase has the same answer, but as soon as scheifele goes on the market their teams will be lining up to inquire. People are going to be surprised at what he returns I think. I just think that making any proposals on here are pointless because every fan just says the same stuff lol.

Scheifele will be motivated because he only has two more years left at $6.1 million. Everybody can handle that contract who wants to handle that contract. Its going to be big market. Very big market. Can't find top two centres in this league."

If/when the Jets trade Scheifele, they will do well.

Oh wow thats good to know, hopefully there’s a bidding war so the price goes up. People keep comparing this to Eichel, when teams had no idea how he was going to recover and had to take on 10 million. It’s no where close to similar. I think some fans will be quite Shocked when he gets a lot back.

Hahaha fair enough. Fans will always be biased towards their team and overvalue their players and prospects. Myself included. It’s nice when you have insiders with league sources that can actually give some context.

I agree. Its probably safe to assume that the trade market doesn't re-open until the playoffs are over and we approach the draft so we have at minimum two more months of idle speculation among fans. There isn't much time between the end of playoffs and the draft but Chevy said that GMs (himself included) are always talking to each other so maybe it can happen quickly.

When asked separately about untouchable players on the Jets, he replied by saying that sometimes you have to make the "crazy call" to other GMs about theirs because you never know. I suspect the fanbase that gets Scheifele will be surprised with what they had to give up.

Chevys a liar, he can't possibly be always talking to other GMs, he's missed out on too many good deals for me to believe he's always in touch with his fellow GMs, he lives on an island on Lake of the Woods with no cell service for a reason, so he can live up to the Dayoff in his name!

I do wonder if he's maybe micromanaged to the point of inaction but missing out on some good smaller trades that have happened makes me wonder if he's just not doing his "due diligence" often enough as he likes to say.
