I know a joke, but noone is sitting around saying hes better than makar lol. But he bring to much to this team and his playing style is needed in any playoff calibre team

How this works ? Sabres will have 1OA 2021, 1OA 2022, 1OA 2023, 2OA 2023 ? So Sabres win lotto with 3,5% odds, then Vegas drops into bottom 10, which they won't be trying since not having the pick, and then Sabres win again on 5% at best. And 2OA would come from where ? Sabres own pick 2023?

1. "Teams cannot win the lottery more than twice in a five-year period. Wins in the lottery prior to 2022 will not be counted toward this total".

2. If Vegas wins the lottery, it only counts as a lottery win for Vegas.

Not Buffalo.

Same rule applies to every other team.

Interesting thing, if we finish in 32nd place, we don't "win" anything, because we didn't move up. So we could finish dead last for the next 5 years, and win every lottery and pick first every year.

That would only happen if Vegas wins the lottery.

In which case, you would jump 10 spots, draft 6th overall and give your 2023 1st round pick to Buffalo.

The other two picks in the Jack Eichel trade would defer to 2024.

It would be a miracle and it has little chance of happening.
