Interesting takes from Friedman 590:

- Leafs opened with ~$2.75m initial offer, which was far below Campbell's. (surprised they lowballed that hard although if he is asking for 5-6 you let him walk)
- Sandin or Liljegren, thinks both end up with short term deals in that ~$2m range.
- looking for more tenacity in their top-6
- where Tavares plays in the lineup next season, either the center or wing
- says that Dubas will be back next season
- Dubas' summer of Kawhi. Thinks the Buds will really consider a major move. ( I hate this take only because the Raps couldn’t get by the Conference Semi/Finals and a guy named LeBron)
- adds that he thinks Giordano will likely be back at a lower number

Not surprised. Seemed like a match made in heaven for the Wings, so good move by the Isles to keep him around.

Trotz will work perfectly for them and they don’t have that many young players needed development that I can think of definitely playing next year

He did not really improve this season which has severely lowered his draft stock, still has a decent ceiling but he's a project for sure

I'm thinking if he's the only RD available left in the 1st round, habs take him with the Calgary pick, no?

He wouldn't be a 1st rounder IMO, there are better options available but if he is still on the board late in the 2nd would be worth a flyer.

Like A_Habs_fan said, a little too inconsistent this year. But the skills are there.

I doubt it, for that to happen, Chesley, Casey and Nelson would have to be gone by that pick which could happen i guess but if they're all gone, there's likely a better player than Salomonsson we could grab there

As the saying goes you lowball first then work your way into a nice contract

I think a Freddie deal is the safest kind of deal 4.5mill x 2 years for Campbell. As if McKay, Woll, or any of the other prospects start to show signs then he wont be in the way.

Could the big move be Marner or Nylander?

A deal centering around Nylander for Anderson is very interesting
I can see it happening
