No team moving a top 4 shutdown dman for the worst defensive forward in the league lol. Also no contender is moving a top 4 dman ever in a trade. Winnipeg is gonna be retooling their roster obviously isn’t working they need to make big changes I only see them getting futures and maybe a top 6 forward that’s u25 to help fill a whole

For the Ottawa trade I would think that I would be Winnipeg that adds because Ottawa is taking on a bigger cap hit albeit for a shorter amount of time but Colin White's buyout is peanuts and he really isn't taking anything away from Ottawa. Obviously it would not be a big add but maybe something like a forth or a fifth and a later pick or a prospect that probably doesn't amount to anything.

Wheeler would 100% block a trade to Ottawa.

I don't disagree but it looks like if the trade is made prior to July 1 or whichever date the "new year" rolls over this year, he does not have trade protection.

If I were the Sens I would inquire on Scheif. Not that there is a need for center but he's the better player between the two, from Ontario, manageable cap hit and salary, no signing bonus. No doubt would cost more but he plays with and edge and is younger. Scheifele does have a 10 team no trade list, would be interesting to see if Ottawa is on it.

Hawks pass. Strome is worth at least a 1st and B prospect. Stanley sucks

Carlo would be a good start, but there is probably no chance the Jets add anything to Scheifele and less than no chance the take back a cap dump.

Wheeler's full NMC is in effect until 2022-23 after which it turns into 5 team trade to list. There is no gap in the coverage where it goes from full NMC, to no control, to M-NTC. So right now he has full veto power, after that almost full veto power.

Edit: I think you might be thinking of the Subban transaction where he had no trade protection, he was traded a couple of days before his NMC kicked in and NSH opted not honour the NMC. They removed that option from the team in a recent CBA extension.

Wouldn't be interested in adding Stanley with our abundance of LD of similar quality coming through and the 2nd isn't close to Stromes value IMO.
