MONTREAL IS NOT TRADING CAUFIELD! Do you understand? It is like saying that Jersey would trade Jack Hughes or Hischier, IT IS NOT HAPPENING!

Obviously we're not trading him, but this is a pretty decent offer

I know it is decent, I just don't see why we consider it since CC has established himself and everything in the offer is unproven

Nice offer for CC especially that 2023 unprotected 1st but there is no way MTL is trading their best player ( after suzuki). They've been waiting years for a natural goal scorer and now they have one. He's signing long term.

They won’t but they probably should from a pure rebuilding standpoint. 3 young good assets > 1 young good asset, from that perspective

They don't need to do that lol he IS who you build around. They have 2 first rounders this year and 2 seconds. Also have 2 first rounders next year too. Really no need to trade their best prospect lol

I’m not saying there’s a need. I’m saying it’s probably optimal. But it never happens like that in the NHL

The gap between Sharangovich and Caufield is less than Mukhamadullin....and far less than Mukhamadullin and a unprotected 1st.

Habs would be nuts to decline this.
Devils would be nuts to offer it.
