Why would habs spend assets to get rid of Weber as he doesn't impact the cap space being on LTIR

I'm not sure myself of the reason either, when I read the report I was quite surprised to be honest. But crazier things have happened I guess.

Price won't retire lol nobody is leaving 10M a year on the table, he will go on LTIR as long as he possibly can.
Don't think petry waives for PIT and the way he finished the last 28 games of the season MTL likely gets more for him as he looked like he was back to normal.

Correct me if I'm wrong but recapture penalty aren't a thing anymore under the new CBA (Excluding deals signed prior: Ovechkin, Crosby, Quick, Weber) so where does that Price penalty comes from?
