I think the value is fine, but the Canucks are trying to clear cap space

As for Buffalo, they probably decline

Buffalo declines

U can’t expect us to give up Cozens for 2 years of Scheifele
Doesn’t make sense
And since there’s 2 years left on his deal, we wouldn’t be able to work out an extension with him

So there’s just no way we’d give up a piece like Cozens without knowing Scheifele would sign an extension

It’s not that he isn’t valuable
But i don’t think anyone will give up a young piece like that with such uncertainty

Don't even know if I would want to give up Olofsson and I like Scheifele.

Well and DeMelo, and what are we really giving up other than Krebs. I have seen people thinking Mitts or Krebs could be used in a deal.

Krebs is absolutely untouchable and mitts shouldn't be thrown away for nothing/given up on yet

Buffalo is likely on Scheifele's 10 team no-trade list.

Why is Krebs untouchable, I wanted to see the reaction for some people. I wouldn't do that deal cause we aren't ready yet. But there are very few on the Sabres who should be untouchable if it's the right deal or we were ready as a team for something like this.

Being one of the main pieces of the Eichel trade, it would look bad on the organization from an asset management perspective to trade him.

Would think it would depend on the piece coming back. Not bad asset management when you use it to get better.

Two year ago we would have thought Eichel was untouchable.
When I saw Tuch and a couple of picks were part of the return, I was very satisfied, Krebs was the whipped cream and the cherry on the top.
IMO Tuch, Thompson, Dahlin and Power approach untouchable but obviously it would need to be a crazy deal which would not happen.
I really like the way the team is shaping up and would only trade Samuelsson, Cozens, Mittelstadt, Krebs, Olofsson or Jokiharju if the deal knocked my socks off as I do not think we have seen their ceiling.
Skinner, Girgensons, Asplund and Okposo probably will not be traded because the return will not equal to the intangibles that they bring to the ice.
Watching the Leafs and Bolts go at it the last couple of games makes it very obvious the Sabres are not close the their talent level.
@Mr_Nick_Ber
I seriously doubt we will see the Sabres make any big moves this off season.
Adding Scheifele will not make the Sabres a playoff team at the expense of trading away 40 to 50 goals to add him.
From March 2nd to the end of the season Olofsson was on fire.
Over those 28 games he had 13 goals, 25 pts and was +6 (38 goals, 73 pts prorated over 82 games).
Not having a healthy Olofsson would seriously damage Buffalo's offense.

Yeah I wouldn't trade Olofsson in that package, probably want them to play together. I really just wanted to see people's reaction. If the Sabres were ready I would try and get Scheifele. It would need to be a package that made us better, to me Tuch Tage Dahlin Cozens Power and Samuelsson are probably of the table.

I probably should have included Samuelsson in my list of "approach untouchable" his defense is really solid.
I am really high on Cozens and maybe there were health issues affecting his play (similar to Olofsson scoring drought), but over the last 28 games he only had 1 goal and 11 assists.
At this point I would leave him off of the "approach untouchable" list.
I should add Mittelstadt was not much better with 5 goals and 11 assist over that same period.
If, If, If, Samuelsson, Cozens, Mittelstadt, Krebs, and Jokiharju could all have break out seasons, Quinn and Peterka can make the jump to the NHL, Buffalo can find a RHD and average NHL GK, they may make it to the playoffs next season.
TBH, I was really excited about next season until I started watching "playoff" hockey.
