Would love to get Laine back! Unfortunately that doesn't seem like a deal the Jackets would go for... frown

Love the thought of the Jets finessing trades to get 2 of the top 3 picks from '16 draft. Laine and Scheifele swap would be hilarious.

Can you explain why Rangers would trade their 1st for their own 2nd in the same draft.

Any thoughts on a 5x9 promised to scheifele going forward and 5x7.25 for Dubois, with the thought of him hitting free agency sooner. Flipping ehlers to lw and dropping perfetti down a line. Thinking Connor and Dubois could use a good 2way winger, possibly give svechnikov another full look. That ehlers/scheifele/perfetti would have zero defense, but would be fun to watch.

It’s part of the copp deal if they get to a certain point in playoffs, I forget how far

Detroit passes. Toss in a 2nd or a prospect and we would consider it.

Detroit comes back with a 4th rounder take it or leave it offer...

I dont think these trades make the Jets much better if even at all.. Are you trying to sell Klingberg on a shortened rebuild? Your trading players to accumulate picks, but then also going out to get Klingberg.. just a little confusion on what your actual plan of attack here is..

Depends on the room. If Wheels and Stas goes and everyone else is fine with Scheifele, I'm ok with that

Ehlers is actually decent defensively, if Scheifele tries a little harder he's passable, not sure about Perfetti yet.

Get rid of perceived problems and still competing. Picks mean nothing big picture, just what a 30 point Dman is worth, that's all

That would be a fantastic return for 55. I can't see CBJ saying yes to that

I hope Chevy wakes up and has some tricks up his sleeve, Dubois isn’t going to look as good without scheifele, and chasing a 2c might take another 2/3 seasons, and by then we stay bubble and have to continue on similar mediocre path. Either need to double down on current or tear it right down. Damn would be nice to catch a top 5 this year in a lottery win.

I just think you give up two point per game forwards for one point per game player who didnt seem to fit in the last time he was in Winnipeg.
You also give up two good defenseman for 1 defenseman

Overall you give up 4 players in return for 2. You then try to fill in your D with two guys who are pretty unproven, they might do well.. but will they?
and losing 2 of your better forward to bring back Laine for experiment #2 doesnt seem like a solid idea.

I could see getting rid of the 4 guys if you arent planning to make a run next year and sitting back to retool. This just seems like you gave up 4 to get 2 and your just hoping this works. But highly likely that this isnt solving the problems.

Lost game 1 in a marathon, but the way the tenders are falling in there path, might be a doable path.

That’s a no from Columbus. It seems like Laine wants to be in Columbus and Cuelamens isn’t going to be traded. Scheifele likely goes to the open market when his contract is up and Columbus isn’t going to be a cup contender for the 2 years Scheifele is under contract. Send him to someone like Boston who could use an upgrade at 2c.

Wheeler turns 36 in the off-season; he's not the sort of player Los Angeles is looking for to play RW on either of the top two lines.

Hell; I'd replace the second with our first in that deal to get Laine back, but Columbus is going to extend him.

I really wouldn't be that worried about losing #55&26 if this team here was actually put together, I'd question what is Perfetti really going to be in his first full year, can Stastny hold together the 2C job for an entire season and that bottom six is still useless and would struggle to score which is a huge reason why their season went down the toilet, any significant injury to a top 6 guy not named Perfetti and they'd be phüked.

That defense is decent enough, wouldn't concern me at all though think I'd keep Dillon and maybe trade Heinola.
