Doesn’t move the arrow enough, wings need to stay patient, possibly a change of scenery for zadina, and try to continue the draft and develop approach, similar to tbs build.

Keep the assets. Sign UFA Trochek.

I would say keep the assets as well. Letang doesnt fit Detroit at that price point. Needing a veteran to help, you get the same resigning Stall for $2M and saving the cash. I am a fan of looking at Copp, Rust & Trochek in free agency. Should be able to pull at least 1 of them.

I could settle for a Letang $7M 1 year and letting him pick the team he wants to go to with us retaining half at the trade deadline. But I could easily see him just signing a 2-3 year deal in Pittsburgh for $4M to round out his career there.

A lot of meh there for Scheifs. It would actually take a premium asset to land him.

Detroit is interesting because does Larkin stay if major strides aren't made next year or does he end up getting dealt at the trade deadline? If you added Scheif could he ensure that Copp signs there too? Detroit is Scheif's childhood favorite team so he would like going there and likely would extend but Detroit would need to get serious and move something they don't want to.

Try to get it down to 2 or 3 assets for 1 player. When you get to 4 or more you aren't giving enough quality so it isn't realistic.

Larkin recently said he hasn't thought of playing for another team. Yzerman has recently said he plans on getting Larkin signed long term. But until then there will be fans on CFACGM circle jerking to their team acquiring Larkin for peanuts. The Bertuzzi circle jerking has been going on for 2 years now and he's still a Red Wing.

There's no need for the Red Wings to gut their team for Scheifele when they can just sign a UFA like Trochek for free. As in not giving up assets to acquire him.

That is true and the moves he is making are low risk.
