I'd pass, 5th Overall is a high price and feel they'd be better using that for something else and going the UFA route this year for wing help. Miller's great and definitely worth a 1st+ but maybe just not from the Devils unless it's an underpay.

Daws is a year younger and has better AHL stats than DiPietro (let alone NHL in his stint vs minimal for MP). I don't get why this trade keeps being pushed. He's no more a sure thing to be a 1B guy for Blackwood than Daws had been.

He's also shown he can't play a healthy 82 games, and 44 guys scored 30 goals this year (with another like 30 that were on pace if not for injuries). Being a 30 goal guy just doesn't make you worth a top 5 pick

Why pay for a change of scenery when a goalie prospect isn't the real need and you already have the same kind of guy filling the spot?

That's the point of a change of scenery, don't just look at stats, change the personnel in the hopes of producing different results

Correct, and I don't believe other teams are willing to pay a top 5 pick for him. Better off going for Fiala who is a healthier and better player if that's what you want to do
