Really would consider moving Chabot? If the Rangers had the cap I’d love to trade for him. He’s fantastic and imo underrated.

Feel free to comment and I'll make sure to reply. Even criticism because I want to know what you think.

It's a long shot but I just using a scenario in which he's available. Thanks for the comment!

Trading Chabot would set the senators back a few years I think. Just be patient with the team they are looking better.
The Detroit trade doesn't really make sense other than clearing roster spots. They would have no interest in either of those two players but considering they are UFAs after next year I guess it's fine.

I can't even begin to fathom what your asking price on Morgan Reilly would be.

Since you don't think Chabot alone would fetch that package.

Detroit declines, neither of those players are useful to us.

A lot.

Also, if Vegas wins the draft lottery next week, your trade would be illegal.

Anything in particular. Cotter? Kolesar? Marchessault?

For Chabot, we will want something like what we got for Erik Karlsson.

For Brown, we will want something like what we got for JG Pageau.

Add it all up and you'll see why Vegas can't afford it.

Did you even bother to take into account Vegas' cap situation before making this post?

Well if the Sens can't take the next step and Chabot is tired to be there, asks for a trade, then ok. But he's been on board with the full rebuild since the beginning. I agree that this time will come if they don't improve in the standings too

In a scenario like that and IF Vegas 1st round pick is lottery bound, then Ottawa considers. If not, forget it, they'd look for a different return.

Oh and remove Connor Brown lol

tears of joy

My new favorite poster!

lol Sens don't even need/want Erne. Pretty sure they would much rather have cheaper Austin Watson.

Hamonic is also not a cap dump. He has been good in Ottawa and provides veteran help

And do you think Adam Erne would be? He'd literally have zero chance to make the team

Bottom-6 wingers (4 spots) who will fight for a job : Connor Brown, Alex Formenton, Mathieu Joseph, Colin White, Austin Watson, Parker Kelly, Angus Crookshank, Egor Sokolov, Viktor Lodin, Roby Jarventie, etc

100% bet they would rather have Austin Watson, or Travis Hamonic, or both.

Sens absolutely keep both players (who are just stop gaps for 1 more season anyway) and the pick.

Dumbo it wasnt a real post. I wrote it because why would the wings take back 2 terrible contracts and players for 1 that they already have? I went over the top. Obviously Josh Norris is worth way more

"dumbo" Are you calling me dumb lol? tears of joy

It just gets better and better. Please don't stop, I absolutely love people who ridicule themselves so hard. You basically have nothing to do but just watch it unfold!

And how are Watson and Hamonic "terrible contracts"?

Watson has 1 year left at 1.5 AAV. Scored 10 goals in 67 games from the 4th line. He is a heart on his sleeve player ready to block shots with his teeth and bleed for his teammates

Hamonic has 1 year left at 3.0 AAV and provides good/decent RD minutes, something Zaitsev has failed to do this season. Hamonic is a good stop gap giving a bit more time to Thomson and JBD (still both 21 y/o) to develop and not be rushed into hard minutes...

Ottawa really doesn't want to "get rid" of these 2 guys. The OP is NOT a Sens fan...
