Obviously this would be AFTER the lottery. But not sure why you wouldn't be interested in moving up from around the 15OA pick to around the 7OA pick? Could put us within range of picking Jiricek

Yeah not sure about the first round picks involvement but this is not terrible either way

It would also depend on their opinion about Boeser

Can he rebound? Will he continue being injury prone? What about his next contract? Is he a guy who peaked early and won't live to his next contract? Etc

He had a rough season but after seeing his end of the year presser, I’m gonna say his poor play is justified. His dad has been dealing with dementia and continual declining health. That cannot be good for a players mental well being. We often look at players numbers but forget that they are people with actual lives. Despite al this, he still put up 23 goals and 46 points. In his career, he’s been scoring at a 30 goal pace for every 82 games. I believe in him for a rebound season. Good person, good player

Don't worry I'm totally on this side of the fence

Problem is I haven't seen many excuses made for Bobby Ryan and Matt Murray (for example), guys who dealt with a lot of injuries, personal problems and passing of loved ones.

My concern with Boeser would be injuries but anyway, trading for a player in that context (injury history, need a new contract) is always going to be risky. Not my call! It could be a good one or bad one

Yeah this is a big reason why I think the Canucks just hang onto him. Apparently they’ve been making good progress on the contract extensions. I believe he will sign a cheaper AAV than his QO but with longer term
