Jets Get Robbed

Created by: Benzino204
Team: 2022-23 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: May 6, 2022
Published: May 6, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I have learned three things in the few months I've been composing teams, and looking at others.

1. Fans overvalue their players.
2. Fans undervalue other players
3. Most be who compose these teams don't understand how trades work. Players you don't like on your team because of bad contracts or underperformance aren't going to get you star players, but since that's the prevalent idea in these proposals, it's time to be inspired by the awful proposals I routinely see and destroy the Jets.

Scheif trade looks really similar to trade proposals on this site for eichel awhile back. There is no fan base in existence who overvalues their players/prospects more than the rangers. Their list of untouchables is hilarious. And then they are vindicated in thinking their team is good because their goaltender has a historically amazing season and hides the glaring holes that are within the roster.

Come'on man! All of these trades make Winnipeg a weaker team? Keith, Kassian and Smith? They won't even make beer league teams next year. In all seriousness though. I see these ridiculous trades on here. I would have to admit though, sometimes I also make some trades that are from 1 teams perspective only.

Sorry... We can't trade you Drouin because my fellow Habs fans traded him two days ago with a late 1st for Patrick Kane... ROTFL!

Let me replace him by Byron & Armia though... You're good with Byron & Armia right? 6.8 million in dead cap next year but then only 3.4 for the next 2 after that!

Winnipeg shouldn’t trade Schiefele. At least give him a year with a new coach and trade him for a lot more than this next deadline since he’d have two playoff runs with acquiring team.

He’s been absolute garbage for 3 years straight now and is a cancer in that locker room. I have no idea how any Winnipeg fan can stand him

Has anyone actually said that who has been in the locker room? I’m genuinely curious is this just speculation or has it been reported?

honestly it could matter less to me, but he is consistently one of the worst defensive forwards in the league and doesn't produce well at 5v5 that's why i'd trade him, not for being a locker room cancer

Well done. You have really captured the essence of the trades Jets fans have been seeing the past few months.

It is only on here. Apparently people in the states get the news faster then the Winnipeg locals. It has never been reported here that Scheifele has any issues in the locker room as well has had problems with Laine ever. But i am not a veteran of this site and apparently most people on here are somehow related to someone credible.

I wouldn't say absolute garbage. When he's on he's a ppg player who plays on the first PP unit, and has a damn good shot. The issue with him is on the rare occasion he backchecks he gets suspended four games and if the rumors are true he is a bit of a whiner.

That being said that doesn't mean his value is a bunch of scraps. He's scored 20+ goals for 7 seasons in a row, with 31 points in 33 playoff games in his career. With the right coach on the right team he can improve his game, mature and show he's worth the haul he will receive.

Paul Stastny came out and spoke about certain players on this team having no respect for their teammates. If you listen to every media availability on exit day, it becomes clear where that comment is directed. The guys who spoke took accountability and reflected on what a disappointing year they had. Scheifele came out and it was all me me me me me. It’s pretty clear that the issue lies with him. Even wheeler who’s been his right hand man for years, has looked rejuvenated playing without him. He even said how disappointed he was that the year had ended because he was having so much fun with Ehlers and stastny.

It’s literally the jets own players who are speaking about a toxic culture in the locker room, issues with teammates and the lack of accountability. It’s not like it’s some rumour, these are words come directly from players lol.

Very well. All I said though is i have never heard Scheifele's name said out loud. It may be him they are talking about, but that would all be hearsay. I for one have zero issue with what Scheifele said. If the management team wants me to waste my talent here and not support me, I would also want to re-examine my options. He is coming to the end of his contract and he needs to be able to show everyone what his true worth is. I don't like that side of the business, but that is what he needs to do. This will likely be his last big payday before he starts taking 1 year deals.

No specific name on who the problem player or players are, but Sean Reynolds from Sportsnet mentioned on April 16th (Kenny & Renny Show, time stamp 55:03): “I can say that players have come to me to tell me that things are terrible inside that room.”

Edit: On the other side, we have the facebook crew come up with things like: her husband told her that Adam Brooks' brother (who he works with) told him that Adam told him that it is the best room in the NHL.

How do we get more for Scheif than Dubois? Lol
Also the Helle trade is worse than most I've seen around here. Some of them at least we get some decent prospects instead of cap dumps 😂

Edit: good post though. You're 100% right with that description. I know I'm guilty of it.

I totally understand what he was saying. I’d hope all of guys are thinking about what’s best for them. But to be that tone deaf to the situation and what’s happened over the year is absurd. To me that sounded like scheifele marketing himself to 31 other GMs. Because he said he liked where his game was at after an abysmal season, he spoke about needing to have a tough conversation with Chevy. I think that it paints a pretty clear picture.

Again, I’m okay with what he said, it’s the timing and circumstances that make it so bad.

I think every fan base on this site overvalues their players. Its only natural to hype up the players that play on your team (or at least some of them). The Rangers are a solid team, not a perfect team but they could go pretty far in the playoffs imo. I would stop bashing the Rangers if I was you especially when our team is nowhere near as good
