That Toronto trade is off, as they are arguably giving up the more valuable pieces.

Overpaying Bear, Zboril, and Mete while failing to account for the fact that you'll have to either pay or retain in order to move Myers and Poolman's contracts.

They shouldn't. What does Ottawa need with an expensive bottom six forward? Pearson is totally irrelevant when they have Formenton and Joseph to sign and Connor Brown to boot. The most valuable piece in this deal for Ottawa is their 5th.

He can be re-traded to a third team for more than a 5th round pick.

Despite his contract, the author of this post is grossly undervaluing Pearson IMO.

The trade gives Pearson the same value as Zach Sanford basically.

So true, he is not a real top 6 player, even though your getting him for nothing basically, cause mete is gonna walk, he would fall into the Connor Brown, Colin White area of the sens roster and clog up money and roster spots that should be going to Greig, Kelley, Sokolov, etc.

Detroit may not want Myers since the team would have to retain salary and its tight for the Canucks. We'd also have to give up a high draft pick for an incentive to get any team to add him.
