Trades
1.
VAN
  1. Marino, John
  2. Poulin, Samuel
  3. 2022 1st round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Might be a bit of an overpay on the Pens behalf but hopefully they want to maximize their current window enough to pay this. I assume that they are able to find a replacement RHD somewhere else
PIT
  1. Miller, J.T.
Additional Details:
Assuming Miller is willing to extend
2.
VAN
  1. 2022 2nd round pick (SEA)
Additional Details:
Interchangeable between a 2nd and a 3rd tbh. Pearson is a good player though so hopefully someone pays this
3.
VAN
  1. Dadonov, Evgeni
  2. Roy, Nicolas [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Probably cant pay Roy anyway so may as well use him to dump Dadonov
VGK
4.
VAN
  1. Bear, Ethan [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Doesn't have a huge role so he is someone they could afford to move
CAR
  1. Dadonov, Evgeni ($2,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Probably doesn't wave for Vancouver
5.
VAN
  1. 2023 3rd round pick (SEA)
Additional Details:
Anywhere

At 1.5 retained he has definite positive value. Some GM will see his size and right shot and send a 3rd
SEA
  1. Myers, Tyler ($1,500,000 retained)

btw I am not sure if Kuzmenko has to sign an ELC first but we have the cap anyway so it doesn't really matter

Idk if the value there all makes sense. You basically turned 2.5 mil for 1 year of retained salary into Nic Roy and Ethan Bear?

To be fair, Bear doesn't have much value either. He has been a healthy scratch at times this year and averages 16mins a game when he does play. Dadonov at 2.5m for one year brings value, unfortunately for Vegas they can't afford to retain and no team is going to do them a favor after they were willing to trade a 2nd to move him this year.

I like this offseason. I'd be content with something along these lines. I don't see us as a playoff team with this roster but probably on the bubble and could sneak in. Creates valuable assets, cap space, and gets younger though. It would put us in a good position going forward.

hmmm good point, perhaps throwing in a pick into the second deal would make it more fair. Then again Bear doesn't have a massive role with Carolina so it's hard to say

Yeah I think if Pettersson takes the next step this team could flourish. Trading Miller hurts us in the short term but I think extending him just doesn't make sense given the rest of our core

I think if anything, Vegas probably gets a bit more value. Bear’s value is near an all time low so Dadanov half retained probably gets it done. Vegas I think would need another asset tho; maybe a 3rd to Vegas? Depends on how highly they value Roy, but I could see the ask maybe even being as high as a 2nd on top of taking on the Dadanov contract (based on Roy’s style that teams love for their middle 6 rn)

Canes pass, no need for Dadonov. If they were going for a winger, they would go for a scoring winger for the top 6.

Saying Bear doesn’t have value is just a farse. Yeah he has been scratched, but that’s kind of what it means for there to be a 3-man rotation on a d pairing. Each has their strengths and they each bring something different to the lineup. Smith brings physicality and pucks to the net. Cole brings leadership and experience, and not to meant blocks. Bear brings physicality and blocks. Canes are just using that rotation to get the most favorable matchups.
