Adding Scheifele

Created by: sk540
Team: 2022-23 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: May 7, 2022
Published: May 7, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Biggest strength of this team is the ability to roll 4 lines, i think as the bottom 9 as more of a 2a/2b/2c. defense is much improved compared to last year, no more Seeler, Yandle, Connauton or a revolving door of rookies/journeymen

Flip the second to 2023 and the third to 2022 and I’d be cool with the Bruins pick. Just don’t want the Bruins without a pick in either of the top 2 rounds this year. Would be willing to make it 2024 second instead of 2022 third of you feel the value of draft class this year warrants adding more.

Very little chance Winnipeg does that. There isn't anywhere near the value or team needs filled for Winnipeg to consider considering.

There is a deal to be had between provorov and Scheif and some other pieces but I doubt that would include Pionk, the Jets have no interest in trading him. They might however, look at trading another d man like Schmidt, Stanley or even possibly Heinola if the right package was presenting

Bruins don’t have the room, need, or desire for Atkinson.

Boston doesn't have the cap to make this work unless PHI takes some money back.

My thoughts are that Debrusk will be traded still, I think it's known that he still wants out. And good for Boston since he basically doubled his value. And to replace him you have a former BC guy who is a heart and soul guy who still put almost 25 on probably the worst 5 on 5 and PP team in the league. Think he would be a good veteran add who's not remotely done playing at a high level. At least for his contract obv

I think they will eventually jettison Debrusk, this would less than a 2 million extra cap hit.

I think I could live with Schmidt and perhaps a B prospect or extra pick, than Pionk. I just think both Provy and Scheifele need a change, no doubt about it. And it's not like the Jets are low on top 6 guys, (Wheeler, Connor, Dubois, Ehlers, Stasny), and also Perfetti coming up soon too. Adding TK i don't think there would be a huge drop off, and TK may be better suited as a setup man, you have plenty of goal scorers in that group.

I would be down with either of those, and the main reason behind the trade idea is that I think Debrusk will be gone so there will be an opening in the top 6 for a feisty winger who can score.

Sure. But why do that.

Debrusk is arguable better, younger, and has less term. I know this forum has it in their heads but debrusk just absolutely has to be traded, but you know who really doesn’t seem to care? Don Sweeney. I would be surprised if debrusk got moved.

Well neither would I, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they traded him when his value has never been higher, due to the fact he has expressed an interest to be traded and hasn't taken it back. It wouldn't be the most farfetched thing in the world for him to be moved.

Don't see them trading DeBrusk unless blown away with an offer. While his trade request stands, he can't hate playing in Boston that much if he signed a 2yr extension.

But this value sucks.

I never said it would be far fetched. I just said i would be surprised.
