Description

I think they are trying to light a fire in Newhook by making him watch these playoff games from the stands. Bednar is playing a game, hoping for a big boost when Newhook inevitably rejoins the lineup. 37 is not the truth as 3C and 95 is NOT a 3rd liner.

You would think, but it's probably what he's doing. Newhook is an option if they start to struggle. bender has so many weapons and line combinations he could make, it's almost unfair.

I don't that's what's happening with Newhook. Bednar and Sakic have shown their preference time and again for veterans, especially in big games and definitely against teams that play "heavy." I think Newhook will get some time and they'll need his talent in the next round, no matter who they play.

Its been hard to question his lineup choice so far, given the 3-0 lead. But we'll see what happens next round...

IMO Newhook has the skill to rise above heavy play. I think it's simply his rookie status keeping him out of the lineup. And a game to get him all wound up

Agreed, Newhook is a nice insurance policy if he thinks the team is getting flat.

Newhook will be called upon if injuries pile up.
He’s being protected from being exposed in a critical playoff run right now. Not to mention being shielded from the heavy physical play of NSH.

I saw Adrian Dater at our mutual, local King Soopers. He was all about MacDermid possibly playing Game 4. Personally, I think he might incite more hijinks by simply being activated.
