Seems a lot of those signings are too cheap, namely Campbell when NJD and CHI needs a goalie

Campbell hasn't been great this year. He's gonna have to take a discount if he wants to stay here. We won't be competing $$$ wise with those teams.

Leaf fans always lowball their players salaries. That's what CFACGM is for. Living in Fantasyland.

Yeah this is another Leafs lowball. Engvall is not getting in the 1M range. Campbell will be a hot commodity for a team looking at a gamble and if he bets on himself, my guess is he gets more for a shorter term.

I mean Ullmark got 5 mil as a UFA and Campbell is better than he is.

Also, Liljegren and Sandin for 975 each? Why would either of them accept that? Both could easily get $2M + on a bridge deal

Both very valid points. I get Leaf fans are struggling with cap implications, but that doesn't mean players are going to sign for less to help you out.

Just a question for rational Leaf fans...what are the player likely most to minimize total talent lost?

It seems like maybe $5m more spent across the boards here on players?

This is the best example of the Leafs lowball. Dubas is going to want to sign both players for at least 3 years. And it'll cost much more than 975k each.
