Tavares is never leaving Toronto for San Jose. Who cares if they offered Tavares the chance to become the highest paid player in the League.

I'd go as far as saying he wouldn 't leave TO for any team. Why would he? He holds all the cards and the Leafs management can do nothing about it. I'm also pretty sure most of us here knew this deal was going to look bad with at least 3 years left on it. Unfortunately if happened earlier...

He just doesn't have the speed or right linemates to succeed on the Leafs. He is not going to waive his NMC, so I'm guessing Nylander is the odd man out and they bring in a top 6 winger that can play the cycle game.
