Trotz is a bad HC. He is ruining Barzal and we wouldve had to move him next year anyways. Now we will get to see Dobson, Wahly and Bellows flourish + Lou will have the balls to bring in young blood. We also wouldnt have been able to sign any FA because nobody wants to have what happened Palmieri or Pageau to happen to them

there 100% is. It was Trotz or our future (Barzal, Wahlstrom, Dobson, Bellows, Salo). Lou made the safe move for our future

I disagree. Trotz is a solid HC, and he knows how to win. Problem is that he has a super structured low-scoring system that doesn't allow for a lot of creativity/scoring chances offensively. So yeah, Barzal/Wahlstrom could take a major leap forward offensively next year, but I can't see that leading to a lot of success in their own end.

Pelech-Pulock are incredible and dont need him. Dobson is arguably our best defenseman and will flourish now as long as he gets a nice offensively minded pairing. Then mayfield and a FA/Salo will be more than enough. Our problem before trotz was not defense, it was a lack of talent. And now with Barzal, Wahly, Dobson, Nelson are all going to become focal points for our offense. As long as we bring in an offensive coach, I love it. If not, then back to the mediocre 2010's

look we did well by overproducing. Look at that run and Varlamov stood on his head and we got a few clutch goals. Yes we were close but it was not because of Trotz. It was because we had an elite d core to begin with. Look at what Toews became the one year he left? Look at how Pageau and Palmieri became obsolete once they got here? Trotz ruins plays like Burakovsky

yes but we are at a point where Raty, Dufour, Barzal, Wahlstrom, Dobson, Salo, Sorokin are going to be huge parts of our future and we need to let them play.

There is something more going on here. The Isles still have not done their end of year media interviews due to internal meetings. Also at this point we only know that Trotz was relived of his duties, does this mean Lambert and Greco are staying.

Philly got screwed by injuries this year and Trotz would fix a lot of their defensive issues. Couts under Trotz wpuld be something though
