Not being mean, but in no way should Pit be trading for Johnson or Burns

Johnson maybe not, but Burns would be a good replacement for Letang imo

we probably retain up to 3 mil on Karlsson but i think the goal is little to no retention on Burns. yes he is older but still was 12 in Defensive scoring and 3rd overal in min. he’s a freak athlete who has a good chance at a charra like career (40+ and still top 4 D man)

He's good but he is making a mil or two higher than he should. Either way you save cap space in this trade

real strong "uncle who works for Nintendo" vibes here with no one reporting this anywhere. not saying it's 100% BS, but one of those things where I don't believe it til I see a real deal reporter bringing it forward.

that being said, I don't think it's enough. Marino plays the right side, where the Isles already have Ryan Pulock signed long-term and Noah Dobson still in his RFA years, so it's just adding to one of their strengths while ignoring their holes. I just don't think the Isles & Pens line up on a trade that big - if they make any moves amongst themselves, it's going to be something smaller.

i imagine this offer is easily beat.. MArino is having a solid playoff but his regular season was very average + if the Islanders are moving MB theyll likely want high level prospects... guys like McTavish Eklund Rossi Byram Johnson...something amazing

Reilly, Toews, McAvoy and thats it. Im not saying he's not good, but you will likely have to retain not because he deserves less, but because other teams cant fit it in and he likely goes to a contender

I mean who wouldnt but he doesnt have a NTC or a NMC....i would send him to the highest bidder. Most likely Ducks they have a ton of prospects and a competitive team

You're pushing it with the retention. 2mil is more than fair as Burns is still a very effective dman and crimimally underrated defensively. It's preferred that Kapanen comes with a cheap extension, I think that is a must.

every player you mentioned is getting a HUGE raise on their next contract though. and i would prefer to move Karlsson and keep Burns honestly. if possible.

If I was a SJS fan I would agree. But you'd have to retain even more to trade Karlsson

COL has as much interest in Zucker as most people do in getting root canals. Zero.
