I think this would be the right move, I essentially made the same post except with a few small tweaks. Bring Barry home.

Ya always needs a tweak or two, with a veteran coach like trotz, they might be able to pull a Calgary type return to playoffs and silence some critics and have some reinvestment from some of the current players.

Please no, it's Boudreau or bust in my opinion, Trotz isn't a good fit for this group.

Boudreau works too, I just wonder with Boudreau there might need to be a wheeler buyout, and with trotz possibly get the group buying into his system as a whole, even with a veteran nucleus. Trotz would love your favourite Lowry.

I just don't Trotz's system working with this group, this team isn't built like the Islanders up front AND the Isles defense is far superior to the Jets.

He would and that'll be a problem, the Isles 4C is way better then Lowry is nevermind how much better Pageau is than ol stonehands.

Ya basically back to a 1 year swing or tear it down now, so Boudreau and playoffs, convince them to continue bubbling. I just want a cup parade, this team needs some magic, damn would a lottery win be awesome. What do you think a Boudreau ceiling is in a tough central.

Trotz to me had a higher ceiling in a tough central. We’ve seen Boudreau coach in the central before.

Bruce got the most he could've out of that Wild lineup, that team was old and just not good enough.

Idk, just don't see Trotz systems working with this team, that Islanders team is a lot better than it gets credit for and Trotz system works with it though it has eventually fallen short.

Ya I don’t mind the Bruce idea, as long as it comes with a Vincent return, and possibly a tear it down completely in another year, or a trade back into a youth retool using scheifele, Dillon, Schmidt, demelo. And stastny and wheeler contracts running out. Decisions on Connor and ehlers coming in 3 and 2 years respectively. So definitely a interesting time for the jets. Another reason I think I only go 5 at most on Dubois, get his decision time a season after Connor and 2 after ehlers. Damn would I love a quick fix and be back in the mix in central, but is going to be tough with that stacked colorado, tough thing too is Arizona could wake up in 3 years with a contender. So tough to be stuck in the middle of that.

Jets have some tough choices to make. If I were them I’d be retooling this off-season, seeing if they can keep the window open. If they can’t, you tear it down at the TDL and hope to get a good draft pick and rebuild over 23-24 and 24-25. Likely means Connor and Ehlers get traded, which would net massive returns and really set them up for a strong rebuild.

Ya would be nice to sell a little higher on helly,Connor, and ehlers over the slippery slope of the scheifele adventure, so tough to draft and develop and have glory some where else, but hopefully gets the jets some glory in the long run.

Jets really should be looking at the 23 draft and saying this is the year to tear it down. Whether they do it now or in two years it’s inevitable.

Maybe there’s a team interested in scheifele at the draft this year who are selecting in the top 5. Jets need a Nemec/Jiricek.

Absolutely trade Helle too, don't want to be signing him to some fat extension at 31 years old, really question if he'll be a goalie that'll age well.

With how much the jets play him I don’t see him aging very well. Man, I’m almost starting to be convinced they should just tear it down this off-season and rebuild.

What about quenville? I think he applied for reinstatement, or Chevy and hawks connection be too much bad press.

Personally I think there’s too much negativity attached to it. True north is already scrambling to up ticket sales and I’m not sure that’ll help.
