Might not be enough but I’d do it if I were jersey. Not sure how much cap space the Wild have and therefore what type of leverage they will have come trade time.

They have options if they think keeping Fiala is best for the organization. If they want to re-sign him they would end up trading Dumba instead, or a combination of guys like Jost and Kulikov. I see a lot of people saying it’s impossible for them to re-sign Fiala which is just flat out false.

Got it, I haven’t seen much of Dumba- what type of return do you think he would get?

I would assume a 2nd or 3rd round pick and a B level prospect. Analyzing the value of good RHD, especially ones that are offensive is always tough. You can look to last off season and see how much Buffalo got in return for Ristolainen. In my opinion Dumba is better than Ristolainen but I also don’t think Dumba will get a return like Buffalo did.

Switch Holtz to Zacha (or Tatar, or Johnson) and take out Talbot

I was planning on making one with Fiala today , but I like yours better as I wasn't thinking about adding Talbot to it.

I think Guerin hangs up immediately if you offer Zacha Thompson and a 2nd for an 85 point player and their starting goaltender

This is the equivalent of me asking, how would you like Frederick Gaudreau, Adam Beckman, and a 2 round pick for Jesper Bratt? And no don’t tell me that Minnesota can’t re-sign Fiala, BECAUSE THEY CAN. Also, don’t try and tell me that Reinhart and Buchnevich are good comps.

I will stop using Buchnevich or Reinhart as comps once someone gives me a better one (there are some good ones pre-2005, but people don’t seem to like the older comps).

The fact that you’re even using comps at all is just crazy to me. Not all GMs value players the same, and to be completely honest with you, Fiala’s 21-22 season was far better than Buchnevich and Reinhart’s 20-21 seasons. Yesterday’s price is not today’s price. If that were the case, 80% of the RHD in the league would be worth a 1st, a 3rd, and a roster player, if we are comping future RHD trades to what Buffalo got in return for Ristolainen last off season. Whether you like it or not, if NJ has any hopes of acquiring Fiala, they’re going to have to trade away something they don’t want to.
