i don't know if John Klingberg is the prize attraction you bring in if you're hiring Barry Trotz and emphasizing defense.

i also don't know if Eric Comrie is gonna sign that cheap. Got the weird feeling that putting up .920 over 19 games this season is going to be enough for a team to take a swing at giving him 1B money($2-2.5M?)

If you hire Trotz to shore up your D core, Then John Klingberg is the last player you'd want on your team. He's an Offensive Defenseman and his D needs a lot to be desired.

up until this year, he sucked. If a team offers him that amount, then he is laughing. Our AHL goalie doesnt have an option so I guess he is our backup. This part doesnt matter.

As for Klingberg, I can see him playing a bit better D under Trotz and JMo can cover more for him like Lundell does.

Yeah, backup goalie isn't a big concern if Hellebuyck can keep starting 65 games a year. I just have that gut feeling that someone thinks Comrie is going to make the leap and overpays him on that.

Klingberg would be an interesting risk. Honestly, though, I think the D corps already in place in Winnipeg might be worth sticking with if you wind up hiring Trotz - he's good at coaching those guys up and I could see guys like Pionk & Morrissey making a major leap under him.

We need a top RD and Klingberg is that, 6'3''-200 is a nice add. We hardly have any right shot guys in our system so thats why the risk has to happen

I dont mind a trade but those a rare...lol
