An AHL plug. 52 points in 61 games though. Smallish defenseman who's buried in Leafs depth chart.

New to capfriendly, lol? This is how ACGM works: there are about 1.2 billion leafs teams every day that include Kerfoot and Nylander traded for "cap space".

What about the "Jeff Petry to Detroit because he's from Michigan" trades? LOL

Honestly I wouldn't mind them getting one, but I wouldn't want them to get both.

Good goaltending (mrazek doesn't qualify) and a right handed veteran defenseman. Otherwise they are essentially set everywhere else. Forward positions are pretty much filled for next year.

I don't want Buffalo getting either of them. They already got Power and Dahlin. Not to mention Eichel. I do want the Sabres to be good again. Each time I've watched games in Buffalo their fans have treated me better than other places. Same for Bills games. 👍

Fair enough, I guess I should say they have no need for any leafs players.

Personally I could see Mrazek being a nice target, since obviously they would get some other assets to take him on, but otherwise I agree they aren't good trading partners.

To be fair, if I was the Sabres GM I wouldn't be trying to get better through trades either. They have a fantastic group of young players + the best prospect pool in the league + four picks in the first 2 rounds this year AND next + $43M in cap space this summer.

I know the fans are sick of sucking, but I'd let the team run it's course next season and stock up in the hot 2023 draft and THEN start adding high-end veterans who compliment the core. So I wouldn't be interested in very many trade offers either.

However, most Sabres fans refuse all trades because they think there aren't any holes in the lineup, which is silly.

We like our forward group right now. There are very few spots in need of obvious improvement that would be welcome. Those are Björk, Eakin, and John Hayden. Keeping in mind that they have both Quinn and Peterka joining the lineup next season, that doesn’t leave a lot of needs among the forwards. They could use a veteran goaltender to mentor UPL and play 40+ games splitting with him. They could also use a veteran right handed shooting defender to help lead the young core they already have. And they have to spend something in the neighborhood of $20 million during the off-season just to stay at the cap floor. Olofsson is the only current player in line to get a significant raise this off-season. The other RFA‘s would not make a ton of money, but would get a simple raise. That still leaves around $12 million to spend on the veteran defenseman and the goaltender.

To be fair, it's capfriendly, every other teams fans seem to bristle when we don't just want their 3rd pair left d that's either soft as warm butter or about 2 million overpaid. Ditto depth wingers that would just be blocking kids like Quinn and peterka. And if, heaven forbid an actual hockey player might be available, the bidding would start with cozens or power. I personally don't love our center core- Thompson, cozens, and mittelstadt/Krebs is nowhere near elite at the most important position. I personally would like to see a defensive right shot d, prefer a guy with size that finishes checks. Teams are far too comfortable in our zone. And I think we need two vet goalies- a responsible adult to play 40-50 games, and a scratch and dent guy to fight upl for the other 30 games. So there's definitely spots to upgrade, most of what people are selling on here is crap that they would be happy to get rid of.

If you are watching your team in my arena tells me you are watching the games and not having a conversation with the friend sitting next you.
Kerfoot is not a Leaf I would target, but he could find a spot in the line up.
Engvall, Holl and Mrázek would fit into my line up.
LW PK who plays with a lot of energy, stay at home, physical RHD and a vet GK who may turn his game around with Mike Bales as his GK coach.
Considering how many Leaf fans hate Holl and Mrázek I wonder how much Buffalo would need to offer to obtain them.

Not much (as to how much Holl and Mrazek would cost). In fact, you could probably have both of them for Future Considerations.

Also, for the record I like and respect the sabres fan base. I just like to poke fun at them too awesome face
