retool

Created by: bad_takes
Team: 2022-23 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: May 10, 2022
Published: May 10, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Not too realistic but I tried to make it at least somewhat plausible and to follow (what appears to be) the philosophy that Allvin/Rutherford are apporaching this with.

An OEL trade is attempted but no buyers are found.

Per feedback from Kings and Jets fans, Pearson to LA (for Faber + 2022 5th) and Dickinson to WPG (For 2022 3rd) are reverted. Also, New Jersey getting 2nd OA definitely changes things, so I changed the 2022 1st to a 2023 1st.

Kings don't have interest in getting back Pearson, and they certainly aren't trading away one of their best prospects for him.

The jets don’t need any more left shot depth forwards

You do realize Faber is VERY close to being untouchable if not untouchable.

If he’s traded for whatever reason it’s for a top line player. Not Pearson.

You're not wrong when you say it's not realistic. LA has no interest in a re-tread of Tanner Pearson, who is both older and more expensive than when they had him.

Especially not at the cost of their second best defensive prospect.

Absolutely no desire to install Tanner Pearson 2.0. I don't think that we would make that trade if you substituted Kim Nousiainen for Brock Faber.

Where is Boston playing Garland and how are they supposed to re-sign Bergeron?

I was basing it off this, though I'll admit that the media does tend to get ahead of itself sometimes: https://bostonhockeynow.com/2022/02/02/nhl-trade-talk-bruins-back-in-on-garland-canucks-love-lysell/

You’re basing it off a blogger so bad at his job that that he got fired from every reputable source, so he wound up working for an absolute trash block.

If you’re on a site that says ________hockeynow.com, move along. Its trash. A simple look at the bruins roster shows its a truly bad fit.
