Description
What would Tampa have to move to get 1 of Nemec or Jiricek?
Would something around Sergachev + 2022 1st + Alnefelt/Goncalves/Fortier/2023 3rd round pick, be enough to get one of them

Doubtful you're getting a top 3 pick for that package.

Why are you overpaying drastically just to get a guy that’s never played in the league yet? He could very easily be a bust and you’re throwing away good assets for nothing.

Seattle already has enough defensemen. They need forwards

I don’t like the idea of giving up multiple high quality assets for someone who’s never played in the league before. Sergachev is a proven top 4 d man who has won and is only 24. I wouldn’t move him for an unproven kid who could bust. I’d want someone that’s already an nhl player. Odds are a trade could work well, but if the prospect busts then you got rid of a great player for nothing.

I'd prefer to keep Sergy until his current contract is up. Hopefully he takes a big step next year so we can sucker a desperate team into a crazy package for him.

Seattle’s building their team through the draft I don’t think they’re the right target. Maybe philly or New Jersey?

I would like to keep Sergy but with Hedman and McDonagh locking up the left side, and Cernak being the only decent RHD we have on the roster (Foote is getting there but not yet). having to sign Cirelli, Sergy, Colton, Cernak, and Foote all in the 2024 off-season and Hagel the year after. Sergy makes the most sense from a position of strength and our RHD depth not being the greatest. Either one of Nemec and Jiricek can both be top 4 dmen in a year or 2. The package is probably a bit much but in hindsight, Sergy is probably worth a top 10 pick, add in our 1st can maybe get us a few more spots, and then a prospect and a 3rd can get us into the top 3-5

Yeah I think trading Sergachev before his next contract makes the most sense. Hedman is getting better with age and I don't want to do anything creative concerning McDonagh as he's still an elite shutdown defenseman and that's not really what Sergy will likely ever be.

Trade Sergy and save cap so that we can keep Colton and Foote in addition to Cirelli and Cernak. I'd like to work Thompson into a few games next season because he potentially could be our PP2 replacement if we trade Sergachev.

My biggest problem with Sergy is his boneheaded plays and being a liability alot of times. Sergy has the most value being a Puck Moving Dman thats young and his QO is relatively low. i dont see JBB moving him at all and will move others before he trades Sergy
