Please stop the Giroux ideas. It's 👏 never 👏 gonna 👏 happen.

Giroux might go somewhere to get a Cup or Philly. But never Ottawa.

And why give away Brown. He's not a huge cap hit, is a good 3rd line and PK guy. Been asked to do more and has done well

I doubt Philly sends their top scorer for a overpaid 5-6 D and a 2nd round pick.

With the amount of mileage on Connor Brown's body, I'm not sure I would pay a 1st for him anymore

No to JVR, he's 33 now

    But I wouldn't mind this as a Plan D if we can't do A, B or C

So ok let's do it sarcasm

No, you used Ottawa Senators sense.

But what if there was another reality in the multi-verse out there where we could have nice things?

    Think about it

He should be extended. A guy scoring at a 50 pts pace (he did in each of his 3 seasons in Ottawa) while being a top PK forward in the whoile NHL and mostly used in defensive missions, is impressive. 87% of his production comes at ES or PK

He’s going to want the Hyman deal which is too much money. 4 x 4 is the max I’d give up to play on our 3rd line

He lead in goals (24). Awful in every other facet though.

Who knows, maybe he's not too greedy and gives us a friendly deal 4.5 x 5 years would be great. But yeah, he can get close to Hyman's contract if he really wants that. I hope this is sorted out this summer and Dorion KNOWS in advance what will happen. Not like in the Stone and Tkachuk situations, for example.

You're thinking of Dustin Brown? Right?

Because I was like in the "wut" brain explosion meme

Connor Brown just turned 28 years old. He has a non-stop motor and is a PLUS skater. And he is actually rarely injured. He never missed a NHL game until this season (since his rookie season in 2016-17).

He was third in points, #1 in goals. Hence top scorer.

How do you define "not close"?
