ARI
  1. Johnsson, Andreas
  2. Tatar, Tomas
Additional Details:
It is 8 million in cap. But it’s two players with no say in where they move that are both 40 point guys. That can play either wing. It isn’t really a cap dump for nj rather it’s then making space and being a team that needs grit rather than skilled vets.
2.
NJD
Arizona can also easily off lid both of them at the deadline and recoup or upgrade off of what they gave up
    ARI
    3.
    NJD
    1. Myers, Tyler
    2. Podkolzin, Vasily
    Additional Details:
Podkolzin had a nice season and same with Myers. I don’t really know what to expect from van in the summer and I don’t think podkolzin is the guy they really want to move but if they’re in sell mode I think this nj package can fill up the cupboards with young talent
    VAN
    1. Gritsyuk, Arseni [Reserve List]
    2. Kuokkanen, Janne
    3. Smith, Ty
    4. Zacha, Pavel [RFA Rights]
    Additional Details:
I think this might be an overpay but looking at Vancouver’s depth at forward. Adding Zacha and Kuokkanen to the middle 6 I think would be a plus. They’re getting smith who like kuokkanen were top ten in the Calder a year removed and they get zacha.
And gritsyuk put up amazing numbers in Russia for his age. He might be the big surprise from this deal

    1) FLA isn't selling Knight that low
    2) Arizona has an internal cap, they don't even consider taking on over 8m in contracts
3a) NYR can match that (they have 12-13m for Strome/Copp, Kakko and a backup goalie (and that's without getting rid of Nemeth
3b) I doubt kakko even gets to the point of being signing an offer sheet since he can be signed cheaply (if he's offered 2.5-3m for 3-4 years I don't see him NOT signing).

Canucks decline easily. Podkolzin is practically untouchable unless it’s a huge overpay. This is not that

To this point, ARI might be more interested in Bernier as a goalie that may never return from injury but would count against the cap.

It wouldn't shock me AT ALL if Arizona acquired at LEAST two LTIR deals this summer to reach the floor for minimum money with insurance picking up the bulk

    Is Kakko worth $4m though?

I believe the Yotes interest was in just Johnsson.
(Tatar is a waiver candidate in pre-season)

Gritsyuk will be better offensively than Podkolzin.
Myers isn't needed....cheaper ways to fill that 3rd pair.

    This is a massive overpay.

Podkolzin seems like a good young player. But take a step back and realize how good do you really think he will be? Like what is his ceiling and likely good outcome.

Like he put up 4th line numbers this year, which is understandable as a 20 year old.

But a good outcome would be turning into a tough top 6 winger who can score 20-25 goals 50-55 points.

In the last 11 games when he was getting more consistent ice time and actually playing with competent line mates he put up 4G and 5A. He had 14 goals this year while averaging 12:47 TOI per game and played very little on the power play, and is also very good defensively.

It’ll take more quality, less quantity in a hypothetical deal for him. Not a middle 6 forward who needs a contract, a bottom 6 forward, and an LHD who regressed and isn’t a need. Gritsyuk is a quality piece but not enough, especially since we’re also giving up Myers (who while overpaid, is still a solid 2nd pair RHD)

Podkolzin is no where near untouchable, but it would require either an overpayment or an equal asset at the RD position to acquire him.
